CRUMBS believes in a fundamental purpose, code of conduct, and oath to the local music scene. As the website progresses, we must all abide by these rules to ensure the success of the local music scene.
- Positively promote capital region musicians. The capital region is defined as the greater Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Saratoga, and surrounding areas.
- Raise the awareness of the local music scene.
- Help to get bands out of the garage and into the record stores, on stage, and on the radio.
- Sustain the ability for all musicians to access and modify the majority of the site for free. The majority of the services available should be at no cost to the musician.
- Support an equal opportunity for all musicians.
- Demote any slanderous information about a musician.
CRUMBS has been around sing 1996 and the core values have been maintained over the years.
Ron McClamrock (1996-2000) - Troy-area guitar/keyboard player. Ron founded CRUMBS in early 1996 when he realized there was no central place to find local music info on the web. Raised a little baby list of band/musician website links into the splendiferous creation you see here today. These days Ron is taking a vacation from CRUMBS to pursue some other fun stuff. We miss him.
Jeff Hochberg (1998-2004) - Colonie-area guitar/bass player. Jeff joined CRUMBS in 1998 with the now-defunct RealAudio Jukebox and MP3 Single of the Month. Developed many other features over the years, most notably the CRUMBS Message Board in its current incarnation.
Andy Gallo (2003-2006) - Duanesburg-area bass player/vocalist/recording engineer. Andy joined the site in 2003 as program director of CRUMBS Radio, providing the creative and marketing leadership for the station. He is was responsible for the day-to-day operation of CRUMBS. Andy was the godfather of CRUMBS Radio and helped bring the site into the web 2.0 world. He also wrangled the discussion board every now and then.
Mike Guzzo (2006 - present) - Rotterdam-area bass player/recording engineer. Scooped up CRUMBS as a graduate project while going for a masters at St. Rose and completely updated the site. Introduced a CRUMBS Cafe, and brought back CRUMBS Nite Out. He also partnered CRUMBS with a number of influential entities Times Union, WAMC 90.3, WEXT Exit 97.7, iTunes, and Proctors.
